It can be done. But I hope it won't be just driven after you buy it. You have to go through the basic mechanicals first to prevent any problems. You know the typical, timing belt, acc belt, waterpump, etc. Otherwise it's not fun to watch a car breaking down after the first few miles. II can happen to any car, especially if the previous owner was a numpty.

That piece looks like either (i) a piece of valve guide that broke off previously and got mashed up and was left in during a rebuild (happened to me) - they protrude quite far out of the casting; or (ii) a piece of valve seat broken off and left there from a previous rebuild. Doesn't look like a bashed up valve lock or keeper. It could even be a broken of piece of spark plug outer - if someone had to helicoil a plug.

Why do people even bother with Italian cars? Absolute rot boxes plagued with mechanical and electrical issues. Nothing changes other than your current Fiat might last twice as long as the 6 years max that your 127/128/131/132 would have. French cars no better nor BMW trash and their atrocious timing chain destroying Minis (Citroen engines).

I have a giulietta diesel 2018 1,6 120hp and according to manufacturer it takes with oil filter 4,2 liters, when I check it with deepstick it saws me it needs more at least 200ml maybe 300

Loved my 2005 Alfa 156 but failed to get beyond 9k miles before first breakdown.

Are you gonna replace the engine in the donor car, if so why, or just gonna save it?

I would be very happy if you answer.I am a 2005 model 1.6 TS 156 user.Engine renewed thermostat and water circulation were replaced with original parts.But the temperature still exceeds 90 degrees (The line between 90 and 130) It gets close to 110 degrees when stuck in traffic or going uphill.When the road gets better, it drops to 90 degrees again. Do you think this is normal?

Many years ago I went to Italy for the first time in a Fiat Strada that cost me £50 from Woodliegh's here in Chesterfield. Changed plugs, points, oil and filters. Didn't miss a beat down to Turin to watch Juventus. Did it again in old Regata's. Go for it. Fiat's are like my mother in law, they on and on and on.
